If you or someone you know has had gout you probably know all about the excruciating pain and swelling that keeps you up at night and takes you off your feet for days sometimes even weeks at a time.
No matter how mild or severe your gout is, you want to be rid of it right away, but in order to get back to normal you must address the root cause of gout: High Uric Acid Levels.
We reviewed some of the most popular "gout" supplements on the market today. We looked at 10 factors and gave a score of 0-10 for each for a total possible of 100.
1. First we look at how long a product has been available to consumers. This is important because if there are any side effects that arise they may not happen for a few years.
2 .Second we look at if the product comes with a money back guarantee. Everyones body is different and responds differently, you want to be able to get your money back if the product doesn't work for you.
3. Next we look at price. This is where it can get very confusing trying to compare apples to apples. We broke it down to make it easy to compare. We used the MSRP plus the cost of shipping for 1 bottle to determine a daily cost based on the recommended dosage.
4. The next thing we look at was the formula. This can also be tricky to compare. Some products use extract while others use powders. From the label of each product we looked at the total active ingredients to determine if the dosages were enough to compare to clinical trials of those ingredients.
5. Then we want to make sure that the product addresses the two phases of gout. Pain and Swelling and the underlying cause of gout uric acid.
6. It is an absolute must for the product to be manufactured in an FDA registered facility that meets cGMP standards. So this is the next thing we review.
7. We really want to get a good gauge of what people who had used the products thought about them. So in our next area of review we look at only VERIFIED PURCHASE REVIEWS from Amazon.com. This is the best place to look for honest reviews as Amazon makes it very difficult to fake "Verified Reviews". First we looked at the total number of reviews against the number of verified reviews. Then we look at the individual reviews to see if any said they have been compensated for giving their review. Then we look at how many overall stars they received out of five.
8. Many supplement companies make it difficult to contact them and may not even have a phone number listed on their website. So we look at if they had a contact phone number.
9. We also want to look at if the company is available for customer support 24/7.
10. Finally we want to see if the manufactures of the supplements are following FDA Labeling guidelines. This is a good indication of weather or not you are dealing with a reputable company. Real supplement companies follow the rules because they want to be around for a long time. Some supplement companies come in and out of niche markets to make a quick buck and then move on to another niche if they get caught by the FDA.
